Meta Humanitech x Guinea-Bissau

Meta weren’t joking when they said they were serious about AI. We’ve watched them assemble a super-squad of AI geniuses. We’ve witnessed the potential of AI campaign solutions. We’re expecting more AI-powered wearable life-insights to come soon. However, the one thing we didn’t expect was an AI country.

Yes, you read that correctly. Meta is in buy-out talks with Guinea-Bissau, a country on the west coast of Africa with great trade access and natural beauty. For an undisclosed figure, Meta will take over the day-to-day running of the country.

Whilst we’re unlikely to see Mark Zuckerberg sitting in a ceremonial throne, the proliferation of Meta through the country’s operations would be inevitable. Umaro Sissoco Embaló, the country’s President recently expelled Portuguese state media recently, raising concerns about the upcoming election, though the handover to Meta may be more relevant.

Embaló has been keen to stamp out corruption with the implementation of CCTV being a key element. Meta’s takeover will elevate this to a new level as all public servants are expected to use Meta wearables whilst on duty. Meta Humanitech glasses will lead the way with the goal of creating a more just society.

GDP growth has been slow due to numerous conflicts, and Guinea-Bissau has the second slowest new business registration time-frame in the world at 33 weeks. An internal (country-wide) version of Instagram is set to bring major reform, allowing businesses to launch and market themselves within weeks.

Education is also set to improve dramatically. Schooling is only compulsory until 13 and child labour common. Access to software and hardware solutions, both communal and at an individual level, will allow education to be continued effortlessly.

The country has an extensive archipelago recognised for its bio-diversity and a history of strong independency in the face of colonial interference and taxation. Perhaps those attributes will stand strong again, whether it’s alongside Meta or against it. The entire world will be watching as a new era in tech influence and collaboration arrives.

We hope that was as interesting to read as it was to write. It’s (mostly) a work of fiction but we imagine something of the sort will happen one day. We’ve seen Elon in the White House, tech integration tests around the world, but the question is, which tech giant will take the next great leap?
